My sister and her friend were walking her dog, Corby, on a road with in the city limits of Ishpeming Mi when a man shot and killed him just 30 ft in front of them.  Corby was wearing a reflective yellow jacket and a bright orange collar.  The man claimed he thought Corby was a coyote and didn't see his jacket or collar, or apparently the people right behind him, in the low light conditions. 

The posecutor has brought charges of careless discharge of a fire arm against the man, for shooting with in city limits.  No charges have been filed for reckless endangerment to the people or animal cruelty for Corby.  He hasn't even lost his hunting license over this.  I feel that the charges filed are nothing more than a slap on the wrist. 

Please join me in asking the prosecutor to treat this case as the serious case that it is. 
The charges must be more harsh in order to let people know that they can't get away with this kind of act with such minimal charges. And, hopefully we can stop this horrible incident from happening to someone else and their dog.
