Hello everyone,

Thank you again for your support of our petition to advocate for equal rights for greyhounds.  We have made some significant strides but have another favour to ask.

Glen Eira Council is currently considering our submission to their review of their off-leash areas for dogs, yet they have decided to press ahead with their prosecution of Willow and her owners.

We've decided to draw a line in the sand and fight the charges.  Our prospects for success are not great, but we think it's important to make the point that the prosecution of responsible greyhound owners for having their gentle dogs off-leash is unfair. 

The laws need to change and we are willing to go to the wall to support our beautiful dogs.

Our legal fees have been estimated at $5000.  This may seem like a big risk to take for a couple of fines but we think the point needs to be made that greyhound owners are being unfairly punished for rescuing dogs that have been legally abused by the racing industry.  Why are we the criminals when what we are doing is an act of kindness?
