We need a skatepark in Glen Cove!

With the closest one over 30 minutes away and currently closed the citizens of Glen Cove, Sea Cliff and Oyster Bay deserve to have a place for thier kids to have fun.

Northeast winters mean limited access to parks during shortened daylight hours making travel time to parks a major issue.

Skateparks keep skaters off the streets in a safer and more controlled environment, they allow younger skaters a place to look learn and are used by BMX, scooters, inline and roller skaters as well.

Skateparks also generate economic activity as many people come from out of town to use good skateparks they bring thier dollars and spend at local small business, local delis, fast food and other establishments.

Another benefit is, if built, skateparks can generate positive revenue to the city by hosting competitions

However in my eyes this is all about the kids of Glen Cove. Getting them a place to make new adventures and memories would be the crowning achievement to any city development plan.

I urge you to take action by signing this petition and help us build a world class skatepark in the City of Glen Cove!
