Open residential construction and let local tradespeople work!

The issue

There has not been one case of transmission of COVID-19 in residential construction, yet tradesmen across extended Greater Sydney have been restricted from working.

The grants offered don't go anywhere near covering the cost of overheads and wages that small businesses need to cover while they are closed. There must be another way to limit the movement of tradesmen without preventing them from providing their services altogether.

Tradespeople do not pose a threat of causing a super spreading event.

Tradespeople are trying to earn a living to support their families, keeping a roof over their heads, and putting food on the table.

Please allow them to continue working within their local areas unless they are in a hotspot suburb. Businesses and sole traders that are able to offer a contactless service, can work safely with a COVID Safe plan, and participate in regular COVID testing should be exempt from the public health order.

Small businesses offering these services, work in small teams of the same people every day.

If logistics for online shopping is allowed to continue, then why can't tradesmen, who can remain in their local area to provide their services in a safe contactless way, continue to operate?
