This summer Glacier has plenty of visitors, plenty of smoke and plenty of QUIET! This fluke has not gone unnoticed and is good fortune for the many who come to Glacier to enjoy the natural beauty – both sights and sounds. The helicopters in the air have been purposeful - fire and rescue work - virtually no scenic helicopter flight noise pollution - the way this Wilderness National Park was meant to be! Its not over though, until Glacier is able to formalize and secure the natural soundscape and quiet - so our work continues to find the best way to help Glacier restore and finalize its natural state. The Montana state constitution preamble mentions our gratitude for the quiet beauty. We need these quiet spaces in the last best places to find the tranquility our U.S. constitution speaks of!
