Dear Signers,

The Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 15th August 2018 stating that the government is in favor of granting permanent commission to lady officers of the Indian army.

2 years have passed and no on-ground action has been taken. Women officers continue to fight an uphill battle with their male contemporaries to access what is they rightfully deserve. This is a battle for equality being fought by lady officers within the Indian army.

After following the on-going arguments in the Supreme Court and speaking with women officers, I have realised that combat roles in the army are limited and the concerns of the army can be addressed by giving women permanent commission in whichever non-combat stream they are commissioned. 

Join me in asking the Indian government to grant equal rights to women officers and granting them Permanent Commission.
