AI-generated content is increasingly being used to spread misinformation, fabricate events, & mislead people by presenting artificial images, videos, and/or events as legitimate.

This petition calls for a built-in social media option (across all platforms) allowing users to block or filter out AI-generated content entirely.

Many posts are intentionally unlabeled or falsely claim to be authentic, making it difficult for some users to distinguish fact from fabrication. The lack of a built-in feature to mitigate this issue is socially & morally irresponsible. 

Though imperfect, social media apps already have the ability to detect & flag content as AI-Generated. There is no good reason we, as users, shouldn’t be able to use that same technology to filter our feeds.

Giving users this choice would reduce deception, limit the spread of false information, and help protect the integrity of the information making it’s way onto our newsfeeds; by discouraging and limiting rampant fake-news & sensationalism.

Whether you have trouble identifying AI-generated content, or are simply sick of seeing fake posts, you deserve the option to filter it out of your newsfeed. 

As technology advances, so must the parameters & rights we have as consumers.
