We, the undersigned members of the Alight State College community, respectfully bring forth this petition to address a matter of critical concern: the recent "upgrade" to our campus Wi-Fi network.

Between the dates of March 4 and March 8, the implementation of the purported "upgrade" has resulted in a significant decline in the quality and reliability of our internet connectivity. It is with utmost urgency that we highlight the profound dissatisfaction and frustration experienced by students, faculty, and staff alike due to the current state of our network infrastructure.

The issues plaguing the Wi-Fi network are numerous and severe. Users are consistently encountering disruptive disruptions, being involuntarily disconnected from the internet at an alarming rate of every five minutes. Loading times for webpages and online resources have become intolerably slow, hindering productivity and impeding academic pursuits. Furthermore, the stability of Ethernet connections has been compromised, leading to frequent disconnections and rendering wired alternatives unreliable.

Comparatively, the previous Wi-Fi system boasted impeccable performance, providing users with a seamless online experience characterized by robust connectivity and impressive download speeds of up to 300 Mbps wirelessly. However, with the implementation of the recent upgrade, these commendable standards have regrettably plummeted, with Ethernet connections now yielding a mere 26 Mbps.

The adverse impact of this subpar internet service extends far beyond mere inconvenience; it poses a significant obstacle to the fulfillment of our academic and professional responsibilities. As members of a distinguished academic institution committed to excellence in education and research, we cannot afford to operate under such debilitating circumstances.

In conclusion, we, the signatories of this petition, respectfully call upon the administration to prioritize the restoration of robust and dependable internet connectivity at Alight State College. Our collective academic success and institutional reputation depend on it.
