A successful theory pass only has 2 years of validation from the time you pass it.

Back on the 4th of October, 2020 after the long COVID-19 lockdown, I was lucky enough to pass my theory test. Hoping that within a few months from that date, I'd be on the road and having gained more of my independence as a young (19 year old at the time) adult.

However, it wasn't long after that where more lockdowns occurred and we were once again unable to grab a test date (as it was against lockdown rules). This continued throughout 2021, where the whole nation was put in and out of multiple lockdowns. 

Very few of those lockdowns allowed driving tests to remain open, but even then it was hard to be successful at grabbing a test. No test dates were available at all 4 of the test centres (which are the only ones accessible to me and my family), and even if there was, you'd panic and cause yourself a mental breakdown trying to rush and click confirm at anything you found to confirm a spot. And no matter how fast you were, it was always grabbed before you because someone else (or a system that reserves it to your number) grabs it first.

Ever since I passed my theory test, I paid £20 (2nd expensive package) to enrol into a system that should text me and reserve a spot to my number for 10-15 minutes for me to have a chance at grabbing a spot. But even then, I have not had a single test date sent to me since around the end of 2020 (which I didn't take because I wanted more driving lessons to feel fully ready).

It is now 2022, and I am now around 8-9 months off of having my successful theory pass invalidated because 2 years are up. Which doesn't seem fair because a lot of that time has been robbed due to multiple lockdowns.

Although we've been out of a lockdown for quite some time now, it still proves difficult grabbing a test because other thousands, if not millions of people want to pass just like myself. We are all panicking, because we've all lost out on the time our successful theory pass has been valid for.
