Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, two Pixar films Soul and Luca were originally scheduled for a theatrical release but COVID made them both shift to streaming on Disney+. Turning Red deserves to be seen in theaters first and not direct to streaming. True, Turning Red won't be the only new movie Pixar will release this year, there is Lightyear, the spinoff film of Toy Story's Buzz Lightyear, which is still scheduled for a theatrical release this summer. But like I said, Lightyear is a spinoff film of the Toy Story franchise while Turning Red is an original story and I believe that now is the time for Pixar to release movies that aren't sequels, prequels, or spinoff films back in theaters. Another reason while Disney and Pixar should release Turning Red in theaters in the US is because parts of the country are starting to get less COVID cases and probably by March, Omicron will barely be a problem. So please Disney and Pixar, release Turning Red in theaters worldwide on March 11, 2022 or at least give it a hybrid theatrical/streaming release just like with Jungle Cruise, Cruella, Black Widow, and Raya and the Last Dragon.
