My friends, As I write this letter, I think about the 17 lives that were lost one week ago today at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. I want to let you know that my prayers and thoughts are with all the families and friends of the lives that were lost and the many more that were affected by such a sinister action of hate. And I cannot commend enough the brave students at that school for taking on such a big step to call for gun reform in the wake of such tragedy, but there is also another tragedy that is silently happening and that I want to bring attention to for the "March for our lives" event next month. What is that issue? Many of our youth losing their lives due to Bullycide because of the harassment, intimidation and Bullying. We have watched too many innocent people be lost by this tragedy and the recent shootings were because of the bullying that many youth have for far too long endured. The students are right: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! NOT ONE MORE LIFE SHOULD BE LOST BY SUCH ACTIONS! This petition that i started more than 6 years ago, has gained serious ground since it began, to date: 1,475 people have signed the petition. But now more than ever before, we must say to our leaders: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! We have had enough of too many youth missing out on a education to make a difference no matter what gender preference, religion, etc. because of the bullying, harassment, and intimidation. We have had enough of our youth not walking in the hallways with fear of being cornered and more by bullies, and worse. We have had enough of our youth being harassed and cyberbullied by text, social media, etc. to the breaking point where their lives or being taken, we have had enough of families having to go through the process of planning funerals for their loved ones who lost their lives by suicide due to influence of bullying, intimidation, etc. and more importantly.... WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUTH going to school with the purpose of injuring someone or taking lives with the power of a weapon. IT IS TIME TO GIVE OUR YOUTH A JUDICIAL VOICE against bullying and families of bullycide victims a voice as well! So, if you feel the strong anger as I do, hearing about another life being lost because our leaders are doing nothing in Washington, DC and that you want change sincerely, I ABSOLUTELY encourage all my peeps to do your walkouts, your demonstrations and more, but also please join my fight to #EndTheNightmare and #TakeBackOurSchools so that you can go to school with NO FEAR, NO PAIN, NO SHAME, no nothing to be the "Champions of Change" that we can all be.
