Give Staten Island Healthcare workers N95 respirators (supply of PPE) Due to COVID-19
Why this petition matters

Doctors, Nurses, and Healthcare providers have a shortage of PPE equipment (N95 respirators/gowns/masks) in the Staten Island community (hospitals/clinics).Hospitals are suffering lack of resources and our politicians are downplaying the severity of the novel corona virus. They are treating potential coronavirus cases as flu-like symptoms and do not equip their nurses and doctors with N95 respirators because they fear it will alarm patients and community. My mother is a nurse and she loves to work in the health care field but can not do so if she is SICK!!!!!!! If there are sick doctors and nurses, then there will be a shortage of HCP and we can not ignore a potential threat to our community. This equipment is necessary to save loved ones and prevent a larger outbreak of this novel virus. It’s simple logic not hysteria! Let’s be smart Staten Island. N95 mask prices have unjustly gauged. People, who are misusing these surgical masks, keeping them away from healthcare providers, who are the ones that take care of our community are wrong! Firefighters are first responders and are always equipped with necessary gear. Healthcare providers similarly save lives every day!Let our legislators know that we need to increase resources for our hospitals, we need to test more patients and creat proper OSHA legislation regarding PPE for corona virus!
