4 Weeks On and Still No Decision!!

Yesterday Sasha had a meeting with her Doctors at Kings, this meeting was set up to receive the decision from NHS England as to whether Sasha had won her appeal and was going to receive the funding for her much needed transplant. Unfortunately, Sasha has been let down again, as they have still not reached a decision due to needing more information! Sasha has waited nearly 4 weeks for this and to have it prolonged this close to Christmas is disgusting! Her life is in their hands right now and there is nothing she can do about it!! The doctors have confirmed that they have a 100% donor match ready and waiting to proceed with the transplant while Sasha is still in remission and that they could do the transplant potentially within a 4 – 6 week period if she were to fund it herself! Talk about “dangle a carrot”!! Sasha is in turmoil! The longer she waits there is more chance that she could relapse again and not be able to have the transplant at all! Is this potentially what the NHS England are hoping for? We don’t know? But what we do know is it is doubtful that Sasha will hear anything this side of the year. We feel so helpless, she has been advised to keep up the fundraising in case the inevitable were to happen but even with her friends and family working endlessly to raise this money time is simply slipping us by at a speed we cannot keep up with. This is where I ask for the help of the ‘People Power’ we could, if all 91,000+ of us pulled together help to potentially save Sasha’s life, I know how close to Christmas we are, but what an amazing Christmas present it would be if we were able to give Sasha the chance to have her transplant!
