The Issue

For years, I have dedicated myself to working with Donegal Animal Welfare, passionately serving our community and advocating for the voiceless animals that need our care and protection. It is with deep sadness and concern that I learned about the closure of the Donegal SPCA building by ISPCA. This building, which cost our community a significant €1 million, was a gift from the people of Donegal—funded by their generosity and commitment to animal welfare.

Our community cannot stand by as this valuable asset, which belongs to the people of Donegal, is taken away. The Donegal SPCA building has been a beacon of hope and a sanctuary for numerous animals over the years, and its closure threatens the very welfare of countless animals in our region. The ISPCA's decision to close this establishment does not reflect the needs or wishes of our local area, and it disregards the significant contributions that the citizens of Donegal have made to ensure its existence.

The Donegal SPCA building is not just a structure—it is a testament to the dedication and compassion of the Donegal community. We must not allow its closure to diminish years of hard work, commitment, and financial investment that our community has put into it. We demand transparency and accountability from the ISPCA and call for the reopening of the Donegal SPCA building.

We urge the  ISPCA to recognize the importance of this facility to our community and to reconsider their decision. Let's come together to safeguard our heritage and continue to provide shelter and care for our animals in Donegal.

Please sign this petition to help us in our fight to keep the Donegal SPCA building open. Your support is crucial in showing that our community stands united in protecting what is rightfully ours and ensuring the well-being of animals in Donegal. Sign now to make a difference.
