Give 'Officer A' hero of the Lindt Café siege back his name.

The issue

The Tactical Operations Unit (TOU) officer who stormed the Lindt Café and shot dead the terrorist gunman has a coronial suppression order on his identity. The New South Wales Coroner's Office says there is nothing they can do. This means 'Officer A' is effectively banned for life for his service. This is a greater 'sentence' than what actual terrorists get. All 'Officer A' wants is to share his story of hope and resilience in his battle with PTSD with other first responders and the wider community. This petition calls on the New South Wales Premier, The Hon. Chris Minns MP, to restore 'Officer A's' name, his dignity and his higher purpose in life by a special Act of the New South Wales Parliament, to come into effect in time for the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Lindt Café siege, on 15-16 December 2024.
