Give LEGAL young immigrants in-state tuition in Georgia!

Give LEGAL young immigrants in-state tuition in Georgia!

The Issue

The federal government recently began issuing work permits to young people who came to the United States as children under a program called "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals" (DACA). Even though the work permits are renewable for an unlimited number of times, the Georgia Board of Regents refuses to recognize deferred action as basis for in-state tuition in Georgia. Providing these young people with the opportunity to go to college makes sense because the state has already spent money with K-12 education just to leave them hanging when they are ready to pursue higher education. They are now LEGALLY able to work in the United States and pay taxes. Please help me in passing in-state tuition for all DACAmented people in Georgia.
