We have to stay positive but it seems we are just being stalled!
We received an email from our Barron River MP Craig Crawford, in their meeting with TMR they say they advocated for a trial of current available trains ie the Savannahlander , however TMR still questions many things like viability, feasibility etc.
They called TMR again with further updates and were advised that the petition is with MP Mark Bailey, Minister for Transport and Main Roads and he will be responding to based on information from Queensland Rail and any other relevant parties.
I wonder if it will be any different than the other emails we have already received by QR saying that TMR would need to approve any changes?
What TMR did say, is that they would be open to the idea of leasing the line to private operators! so does anyone have a spare train lying around in their shed..........???
We think the dangerous range, and Barron River bridge needing ongoing repairs or replacement at some point, justifies the obligation by TMR to offer an alternative. The availability of current empty trains is not only a feasible option, but should be a priority! Instead we are getting excuses not solutions.
APT Kuranda now implore you to write emails to TMR, explain the situation from your point of view. Or there is the option to use the email in this petition, to copy and send. They have to reply so please make the effort!

It’s time to step onto the platform and have your say!
