I’m Janae Bosquet-Wright, founder of Come Back Kids Inc. For the past year, I’ve known James Anthony Coleman II through his community efforts, coaching opportunities, and his MFTK 7v7 organization. He has also sponsored Come Back Kids Inc.

I have seen James invest in young people in practical ways. He provides school supplies and backpacks, mentors youth, and shares resources and knowledge with families in our community. A backpack may seem small until you see what it means to a child who needs one. A coach or mentor who takes the time to show up can help a young person feel seen, supported, and capable of more.

James is facing a Florida Department of Education professional practices review concerning his educator certificate. The notice we have seen does not describe the allegations, and this petition does not ask anyone to overlook evidence or reach a predetermined outcome. We ask the appropriate decision makers to give him a fair and thorough review, including a meaningful opportunity to respond and consideration of firsthand statements about his service to youth and families.
