In recent years, Eltham has seen a number of banks withdraw from our High Street. By the end of this year, both Santander and Halifax will have closed their branches — leaving only Nationwide remaining.

The loss of in-person banking services disproportionately affects elderly residents, those less confident with digital banking, and small businesses that rely on local cash services.

We, the undersigned, call on LINK and Cash Access UK to urgently establish a banking hub in Eltham town centre to ensure that face-to-face banking remains available in our community.

A banking hub would not only restore vital services, but also bring increased footfall to the High Street and deliver much-needed economic benefits to local shops and businesses.

On 23rd July council will discuss a motion calling for a Banking Hub - but that's not enough on its own.  We need your support by signing this petition to show how much a Banking Hub is needed locally - please SIGN and SHARE the petition far and wide.
