Give Diab a Chance at Life Beyond War - Evacuate Him From Gaza Now
The Issue
My name is Alexandria Alden, and I am a Canadian citizen writing to you with urgency, fear, and hope. My husband, Diab Alden, is currently trapped in Gaza—surrounded by war, famine, and the collapse of all basic human necessities. He lives under the constant threat of airstrikes, starvation, and displacement, with no safe way out. I am begging you for help.
Diab is not only my husband—he is also a lawyer specializing in criminal law, and a passionate advocate for humanitarian and international justice. His dream has always been to use his education to defend human rights and support vulnerable people. He believes deeply in justice, peace, and the power of law to protect life and dignity. But right now, his own life is in danger.
Diab and I love each other deeply. Our relationship is more than emotional—it is spiritual, rooted in profound love and respect. We are greatly attached to one another and speak every day when possible, holding on through voice notes and text messages, clinging to each other across oceans and under fire. We are terrified of losing one another to something worse than distance, death. Every day that passes in silence increases the risk to his life and the chance that we may never be reunited.
We have dreams. We hope to build a peaceful life in Canada, start a family, heal from trauma, and contribute to the community here. We’ve talked about starting a business together, planting a small garden, and living a life grounded in love and service. These are normal hopes—but they feel like distant dreams as long as Diab remains trapped in a war zone with no safe exit.
I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for compassion, justice, and urgent humanitarian action. Canada has evacuated family members of citizens from crisis areas before. I am asking you, from one human being to another, to help Diab be next. Please sign and share our petition and help bring his voice to those in power. Your support could save his life—and restore our future.
Diab’s message to you:
"I send my greetings to every human being in this world.
And I say to everyone who believes in humanity:
I believe in you.
I need you.
I need your help.
I am dead without you.
My family and I are at risk of death every minute we live.
Everyone who sees and hears me should share my voice with everyone.
Spread my campaign in the streets, cafés, and everywhere.
Share your signature and send my campaign link to everyone you know.
Make a video and talk about my campaign so everyone knows about me and my fate—and helps me by signing.
Be the one who made my life and safety possible.
Thank you for your humanity."
This petition will be formally shared with the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs The Honourable Anita Anand, The Honourable Joanne Thompson , The Honourable Tom Osborne, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Global Affairs Canada, and both the Canadian Embassy in Ramallah, Palestine and the Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel.
We are calling on these officials to urgently assist in the safe evacuation of my husband, Diab, from Gaza and to help reunite us here in Canada.
