Because of the new bathroom policies at their school, CHMS students can only use the restroom once a day! To add to that, they need an escort if they do not receive the hall pass from their advisory teacher! Well-behaved students should NOT need an escort to do something as simple as using the restroom or filling up their water bottles. For other classes, you can only use an escort ONCE A WEEK. This is horribly wrong and goes to show just how much the school does not trust its pupils. For some people, they only have their advisory teacher before lunch--that starts at 10:48 for seventh graders!

 Students should be able to use the restroom if they need to. It is a basic human right! Studies show that lack of water and sanitization services create immediate threats to health, safety, and dignity. "Physical presence is not the same as access," says UN-water. The right to sanitation means that everyone should have access to sanitation. And now they're only letting you wash your hands ONCE a day! That is simply awful. 

Many students have spoken with their parents/guardians, and they agree that this new policy is unfair--and extremely sexist. What about girls who are menstruating for the first time in their lives? Not only does that absolutely suck, but now they can only use the bathroom once and may need an escort with them?! 

Not only are they limiting restroom uses to once a day, but this is also demotivating students to stay hydrated! Yes, some students have been abusing their bathroom trips, but punishing everyone is not the answer! This is a completely absurd and ridiculous policy and we need it gone!
