Guess what doesn’t work? Stimulus checks that are sitting at the IRS offices instead of in our wallets.
A couple of weeks ago, we urged you to check on the status of your direct relief check. Still, despite much effort, 8 million checks are still just sitting there. Tell the President, Congress, and the IRS to send these checks now and keep them coming!
This means they aren’t helping us as individuals and they aren’t being spent at our businesses.
There has been a lot of talk that these stimulus checks will help keep the doors open of small businesses around the country, but if they aren’t in people’s wallets to spend, then it’s just wasted effort. I am calling on all you, especially if you own or run a small business, to sign this letter to your Congressperson telling them it’s simple, just send them!
Each time the stimulus checks have been sent out, small, local businesses have seen an increase in sales. Restaurants have seen it. Retail stores, hairdressers, even hardware stores, and accountants.
The IRS knows who has not received their checks. They have their names and addresses, but they are waiting for recipients to ask for their money, rather than just send these checks out. That doesn’t make any sense.
Let’s get the IRS to send out these 8 million checks and see a spike of support go into small businesses like mine all across the country – by putting money in the pocket of families like yours.
