We did it! Yesterday, thousands of our signatures were delivered in the form of past due invoices directly to our senators. From the looks of the photos streaming in, we even managed to have some fun! It is not over. Tonight, we’re celebrating and talking about what’s next on a live rally at 5:00PM ET - join me and watch the live stream on Facebook HERE. 

The virtual rally will be emceed by Natalie Foster, co-founder of Economic Security Project and will feature former Mayor Michael Tubbs and several Congresspeople including Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Rep. Madeleine Dean, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Tim Ryan and… me… and you in a video highlighting your stories!

In the hours after we delivered our signatures to 17 congresspeople, the Senate launched into a 15-hour voting session that lasted all night. This morning, they voted 51-50 to take the next step in sending another $1,400 stimulus check to the people. If that isn’t impact, I don’t know what is. While it’s not the recurring checks we’re asking for, it’s a BIG step in the right direction.  

Today at the rally, we’ll celebrate the success of our work to date and talk about the next series of actions to keep the pressure on Congress for recurring checks. The debate is happening now for the next stimulus package and we absolutely can’t let off the pressure.
