Do not rename the default branch from "master" to "main"

GitHub has announced that it will stop using the word "master" for the default branch in a new repository.

This is utter nonsense. The word "master" in this context has nothing to do with slavery. By the same logic, we would have to rename master's degrees, master bedrooms, master gardeners, puppetmasters, and so on.

It creates confusion and unnecessary work for developers, who will need to update scripts and frequently check what the name of the primary branch is for repos.

It's absolutely important to end racism, but actions like these are completely irrelevant. They are distractions, not solutions.
