Save the Gillette Flats, CO Water from getting closed down.

The Issue

For decades the Gillette Flats water spring that continuously flows has gotten the states attention and control is about to begin in November by blocking it so nobody can utilize it anymore. We prefer to keep things as they were, because it is also a part of the Teller County charm for travelers to be able to obtain free clean drinking water from the Colorado Rockies. This helps to keep travelers hydrated and thus tourist season a good thing.

Looking back from the very first sight of a Gazette article last year in July / August up to the present, that is pretty close to keeping the spring open for 10 months, or 8 months from November.

We are ALL in this together! All and those wanting to make the initiative, don't hold back, just come out with it.

Help is needed in bringing an historical designation committee together quickly and promptly, can you help?

If we don't say anything than that gives them the ok, but if we stand with a fight (no weapons), we just may win.

Please sign and say something.

Gillette Flats Spring Organization has worked tirelessly on your behalf to keep the historic Gillette Flats Spring running. We have done things no one thought we would be able to do, including getting a Substitute Water Supply Plan written and approved.

We have one last hurdle, and we need financial assistance to get it done: we must purchase the replacement water for water taken away from the site and get final approval from the water court.
We have a non profit that will collect and disburse the funds for the augmentation water.

Now is the time for you to step up and do your part to keep Gillette Flats Spring open. Send your $20 donation today. We need these funds immediately. We have not asked for money in the past and done all the work to keep the spring running at our own expense.

Today you can show you appreciate the spring and want to keep it flowing.
