Thank you all for your ongoing support!

We were lucky enough to have the Institute for Justice take an interest in our case! We have been working in close communication with Senior Attorney Ari Bargil, who has supported us every day of this battle so far. The Institute for Justice is a non-profit that specializes in supporting property owners in fighting for their rights! We are extremely grateful for their ongoing support and guidance, as we were left high&dry with our hands tied by our own city officials.

We never received any call or email back from City Manager, Mike DaRoza, and are being met with the same silence from every other City official we had reached out to for help. 

Please read the enlightening letter the Institute for Justice sent to the City of Alachua yesterday, which describes our stance and approach we are taking. We have yet to hear back from them since this letter was sent and continue to build our case to take to litigation if it becomes necessary. 

We have had several local citizens reach out to us to describe that they are having similar issues with building official Tim Hunt and being treated unfairly and in a completely unreasonable manner. We are being told that this building official has caused havoc on several other small businesses and families, destroying their livelihoods. It is so wrong, and we plan to stand up and fight with everything we can do in our power to protect the small businesses and families in Alachua. 

Please do not allow city officials to bury their heads in light of this situation. Continue to call and email them and let them know you support Simplify Further Tiny Homes and small businesses in Alachua, and let them know you are watching their actions! We will keep you all updated every step of the way.
