Hello to all my fellow lobster supporters! Thank you again for your signatures and comments on this petition. Every share, comment, and message spread to help free these animals has value and moves us all closer to our shared end goal — to stop this practice all together in Giant Food Stores and throughout the world.
As I stated in my previous post, I sent a detailed letter to the President of Giant Food Stores Nicholas Bertram in April 2021. I explained to him the appalling conditions I have witnessed at all of my local Giant food stores and how other stores such as Wholefood Markets made a change in 2006 to stop selling live seafood as the current methods are completely inhumane. I also stated that he has the power to take a step in the right direction as others have and do the compassionate thing and end this cruel company conduct against sea creatures. I included your signatures and a copy of the petition as well. I asked to speak with him by phone or zoom meeting, but never received a single response. I emailed him two weeks after I sent the documents and he stated he never received anything. Thus, I printed and mailed off everything again. That was back in June 2021. I still have not received any word from him.
Therefore, today I am mailing off a copy of the letter I originally sent to Nicholas Bertram as well as a personal message to the Senior Vice President John Ponnett. He may have more influence and care over this important matter, so I am hoping for the best that I receive a quick response to really get this moving in the right direction.
I know everyone has very busy lives and are under a lot of stress in this everchanging world, but I am asking for a big favor. All of our voices need to be heard in a more direct fashion to gain momentum with this cause, so I strongly and lovingly ask of you to send an email to Nicholas Bertram and/or John Ponnett about your thoughts and position regarding their animal-care conduct. It could just be a one-liner on the subject that says, “Stop selling live lobsters at your store or I will no longer be a patron of your establishment!” You can also call the corporate number and either leave a comment with customer care, which is option 1, or even request to leave a voicemail for either of the presidents.
The phone number for the corporate office is 888-814-4268. The email for Nicholas Bertram is nicholas.bertram@giantmartins.com and John Ponnett’s is johnponnett@giantmartins.com
This is all up to you, of course, but we can see change actualize much faster for these beloved animals if we start taking a more direct approach. The lobsters really need your voice, and Giant will be forced to stop their lobster-selling operations if enough people say, “Enough is enough!”
Thank you once again for your continued support and please don’t be shy about spreading this message of compassion and freedom for lobsters with whomever you come across in this world. They just might hold the keys to unlocking these wondrous creatures from their prison and live a life of purpose, vitality, joy, and honor in the ocean where they belong.
Thank you so much in advance for your help and your big heart for lobsters and all living things!
