Dear friends,
Our petition has accumulated 1,282 signatures, owing to your fantastic efforts to get the word out about the need for Twitter to suspend Kyle Rittenhouse's account. This update will be short and sweet: Let's continue to build awareness by tweeting and sharing this petition - the link is https://www.change.org/p/get-twitter-to-suspend-kyle-rittenhouse-s-account - so more people get the opportunity to sign.
That's more people who care about justice, about safety, about the necessity of social-media platforms moderating their sites more efficiently for bigotry and its concomitant iconography. You may have seen memes, photos, videos and other content from white-supremacist accounts on Twitter that glorify Rittenhouse's killings of two people. This is dangerous and irresponsible - and a threat to any community despised by these bigots. As such, the company needs to act.
You can let Twitter know by making your voice heard with this petition.
I've already earmarked $2 to Color of Change following the petition's surge over 1,200 signatures, and at 1,300 I will add another dollar to that amount ... and another at 1,400, and so on. So by signing this petition, people can help augment other campaigns for justice - and the more signatures we get, the more money will add up.
I can't tell you how much your support means to me. All my best to you all, and I hope you all have a safe, healthy and happy holiday season.
Fondly,
Simon
