There are estimated to be over 5 trillion pieces of plastic in the ocean and counting! These macro and micro plastic have extremely harmful effects on marine life and ocean ecosystems. They have killed millions of animals and are poisoning our water. And the way it gets into the sea? Humans! Humans are single-handedly the ones getting tons of plastic into the ocean everyday. We need to change, but how? The government has the power to create new laws that will make recycling easier and more efficient and this will prevent more plastic from getting to the sea.
