Northern powergrid say they have no uncompleted works on Nile St. The jobs they can see are from the council, which dug up the path to make a Pelican crossing, and left it. Apparently B.T. are involved as well.

The council, Via Councillor Frank Lott, responsible for the town, says it's Northern Powergrid who are holding up the job, and he's been onto the relevant officer, John Sparkes, to get it sorted.

Whatever, it does not excuse our council officers, as Mr John Sparkes should never have had the path dug up if he didn't have all the ducks in a row. And if there was a snag in coordinating utilities, the obvious solution would have been to place a temporary covering over the footpath until the snag was sorted out, thus not causing a loss of amenity to the businesses, as well as loss of business, and a loss of amenity to us, the people who use the town!
