Here's the article: Spider-Man: No Way Home. It has become one of the most successful movies of all time and is considered by many fans to be the best in the MCU. Because of this, and thinking that the Oscars will be next month, everyone was expecting several nominations for the film. However, it was only enough for one category and director Kevin Smith showed his anger about it. A few days ago the list with the nominees for the Oscars was announced, where Spider-Man: No Way Home It got the nomination for Best Visual Effects, which left fans wanting to see it in the Best Picture category. Because of this, film director Kevin Smith showed his anger in his latest podcast and wondered if out of 10 spaces in that category, one could not be given to the production of the superhero: “What the f*ck? They got 10 slots, and they can’t give one to the biggest movie of the last 3 years? Man, and they’re like ‘Why doesn’t anyone watch this show? They should make a fucking choice popular. Do you have how many spaces? Put spider-man for the love of God. Let him get in there. Poor kid is always being abused and sh*t show Peter Parker some love,” the director said.
He further added that he is very disappointed and called the film’s absence from the main category inexcusable:
“In my opinion, the biggest snub, and I’m actually angry about this, I’m a little embarrassed to say it, is an unforgivable omission from Spider-Man: No Way Home. How did it not get one of the 10 best picture nominations? There were only 11 movies made this year. Forget the fact that the movie made $750 million and is still going. This was a great movie. Wasn’t it in the top 10 movies of the year? There were 3 Spider-Man in it. One of them is Andrew Garfield, who is nominated for Best Actor. Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, another Best Actor nominee. are you telling me that Don’t Look Up was better than Spider-Man? Clearly not,” Smith said.
As you can see, the filmmaker did not hold back and said everything he thinks about the poor treatment that, according to him, the MCU movie is receiving from the Academy.
