Why this petition matters

School girls are the victim of frequent sexual harassment and unwanted texts, when they try too report it schools don't take it seriously. Sexual harassment is affecting many students in schools in fact in 2021 Ofsted found sexual harassment in schools is commonplace. We need schools to start taking sexual harassment seriously, this means we need clearcut policy's that make schools report sexual harassment to the parents of the perpetrators and the relevant authorities we also need schools too take disciplinary action against perpetrators of sexual harassment. If schools start taking serious action against the perpetrators of sexual harassment then schoolchildren will stop harassing students thus creating a safer and more conducive learning environment. If schools don't start too take sexual harassment seriously then it will be a normalised behaviour that not only negatively impacts schoolchildren learning but also causes them to stop report other issues such as sexual assault. As a school goer myself I have seen, firsthand, the harassment students have to put up with on a day to day basis. It has to stop. With the recent pandemic school children's learning has already been negatively impacted, if this harassment continues students academic success will decline even more.
