The Saskatchewan Provincial Government has denied the SPCA funding of $650,000 to continue their Animal Protection Enforcement services. The SPCA has been running this program by donation only for 40 years, but the demand has become too much. In 2021 they reported 865 alleged investigations into animal abuse or neglect. This program needs to continue to keep the animals safe, it's an outrage that the government would cease it over $650,000 in funding. The SPCA is a cherished part of our community in Saskatoon that does so much for the animals! Without funding they may even have to close their doors in a years time.
