"I guess it would be good to do a bit of an update - the biggest news being, after five long months, I AM HOME (plus they gave us a load of food that was specific to my meal plan, so now we have a lot of surplus food, including fancy desserts, so that will save us some money!)!

It was all very sudden and unexpected, and so I think I'm still trying to process it and not be so anxious, but I am so, so, so happy. It is all I have wanted for so long now.

These last few months have been probably the worst experience I have ever had, without any leave outside of the grounds, and never alone. Never have I experienced such poor understanding of autism, either. And right now I'm so grateful for...just to feel safe and human again.

To have privacy, to have choice, to have a chair I am comfortable sitting on, a desk to work on.

I've moved back home with mum while I wait for supported living to be arranged, and am focusing on my hobbies, volunteering things, and trying to work out how to manage executive function, sensory issues, rigidity, anxiety, and all the other bits that seem to make it so hard for me to get, and stay, well.

I've said it a lot, but I want this year to be my year. I think it's easy to say that and dismiss all the other years when you've 'failed' (failed is NOT the way to look at it) to recover, but I've done lots of really exciting and cool things I am proud of, so I don't want to dismiss those as a waste.

But this year will be my year because it will be the year I focus on my health before anything else, and get well, leading to more and more years of good things.

I really am determined to try really, really hard.

(also it's eating disorder awareness week, so I really want to emphasise that eating disorders are NOT fun, they destroy lives, and to urge anyone struggling to seek help and stay focused on getting better, and to remember it's never ever too late to change)".
