Get Rhode in Sephora

Get Rhode in Sephora
The Issue
To skincare girlies and boys everywhere,
Let me set the scene for you. It's the Spring of 2024 and I am about to run out of my last bottle of the original formulation of Laneige Cream Skin. I've heard good things about Rhode's Glazing Milk which I had heard was similar so I took a chance and made my first order on the Rhode website. I bought a few things to try out, not really thinking much of it. Little did I know my world (and my skin) was about to change. It was love at first application. The Glazing Milk immediately went into my travel bag and the Lip Peptide Treatment in Rhode Vanilla went everywhere I did. I quickly learned of the cult following Rhode had when people would instantly strike conversation about my lip balm. Some were curious, some wanted to know if mine started getting grainy (it didn't), and others just wanted to compare flavors. I was suddenly a part of a Rhode community of sorts. And my lips were never so moisturized. Then on a grim July day, I went into my pocket to reapply my lip balm and it was nowhere to be found. Needless to say, I was devestated. I went onto the Rhode website to order another and I was met with an egregious 5 dollar shipping fee. Not to worry though because a Rhode pop-up was just announced in New York. Too bad I had to be there at the crack of dawn to get on line to guarantee a spot in the store at any point that day.
This brings me to my mission: to get Rhode Skincare into Sephoras nationwide. There is obviously demand for in person shopping, as seen by the viral success of the pop up. In the last two months of 2024 Rhode sold an estimated 90 million dollars. Sephora in 2023 made over 10 billion dollars in revenue. This is obviously a mutually beneficial partnership for both parties. But no one will benefit more than us beauty consumers. Now that Rhode is expanding into color cosmetics, it’s imperative that people are able to see the shades in person. It gives us the opportunity to feel textures and scents without having to commit to a purchase. It opens Rhode up to consumers who simply need a new moisturizer and may not have any feelings towards Hailey Bieber. It gives us the opportunity to walk into a store after work to replenish our staples because we ran out in the morning. And it gives us the opportunity to shop Rhode’s products at a discount during Sephora’s biannual store wide sale. If it isn’t clear already, I truly love this brand and want others to be able to experience these products and the direct to consumer model makes that extremely difficult. This petition is to show both parties that there is high demand for Rhode to be shop able in person year round.
