Get ICE Out of LA!

Get ICE Out of LA!
The Issue
For some background information, I am an 8th grade, white, Christian, American citizen. I don’t claim to be fully educated on any region of world history, American history, immigration, etc. but I can tell that what ICE is doing is downright wrong and messed up. Even as a white male, who would typically not need to worry about getting detained or injured in our current political state, I am scared. I am scared of what ICE has been doing and what they are capable of. I would like to not be scared but given that I am a 14-year-old boy, scared to stand up to people, and ICE is shooting and killing people for voicing their opinions, which is a part of our 1st amendment rights, I am scared. I just started learning about American History and have realized that ICE is violating way too many of our rights as Americans and human beings in general. I know little about the Holocaust, but I already see way too many similarities. This cannot keep happening.
ICE is yanking people off the streets. They are detaining people and placing them in detention centers without evidence of illegal entry into the U.S. In Los Angeles, ICE surveyed mostly Latino areas and around 69% of the people arrested in those areas were judged on appearance alone, and not criminal conviction. They even arrested Native Americans. Of the 170 people illegally detained last year, the majority of them were Latino. In detention centers, Black individuals make up around 28% of abuse-related reports, though they make up only 6% of the population of the detention centers. They camp out of schools and have even allegedly used a 5-year-old boy to lure out parents.
They are also violating many of our amendment rights. They violate our freedom of speech and assembly (our first amendment) by harassing protesters. They have deployed tear gas, paper balls, rubber bullets, and flashbang grenades to “manage” crowds near ICE facilities and homes. They have also revoked legal status from activist leaders. They revoked the green card status of a student who attended Columbia University, and later arrested them. They have also violated our right to bear arms (the second amendment) by killing Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse, when they realized that he legally had a gun in its holster. After pepper spraying and disarming him, they still shot him seven times. They raid homes without warrants or probable cause (4th amendment) and send people to detention centers instead of immediately deporting them to their home country which seems like a pretty cruel and unusual punishment (8th amendment).
ICE is also responsible for many deaths. They were directly accountable for 5 deaths in 2025 and 6 deaths this year—2 of them being very noteable—even though we are still only in January. In the detention centers, 32 people died in 2025, making this the most ICE-related yearly deaths in a decade. After being choked by a guard, Luna Campos had chest compression found on his neck in an autopsy after dying on January 3rd of 2026. Ice is now responsible for 66% of homicides in Minnesota this year.
If you want to stop ICE from terrorizing our city, deporting and killing our neighbors, and being able to get away with violating our amendment rights, sign down below.
