I am writing this petition with a heavy heart. A family I have known and cherished for over 45 years has suffered an unimaginable tragedy. Their precious little girl, Hannah, who was just 5 years old and diagnosed with Autism, tragically drowned in a pool. This occurred shortly after the family moved into a new home, where workmen had failed to complete their job correctly. This negligence resulted in a dire set of circumstances that forever changed this loving family.

Hannah’s parents are some of the most caring and vigilant people I know. This tragic incident wasn’t due to a lack of supervision or care but a fundamental breakdown in construction safety and oversight. We cannot allow another family to endure such a heartbreaking loss due to the neglect or incompetence of workers who fail to adhere to safety standards.

Therefore, I am calling on the relevant authorities to take action and ensure a law, 'Hannah’s Law,' is enacted. This law would establish stringent safety regulations for all residential areas with pools and hold all contractors accountable for meeting these standards. Stringent checks should become mandatory, and penalties must be imposed for any contractor failing to follow these regulations. Hannah’s Law could save countless lives by ensuring safety becomes a priority in all home and community environments.

This petition isn't just about seeking justice for Hannah but ensuring the safety of children and families across our communities. We must insist on safer environments and enforce standards that protect lives. Let's ensure Hannah's tragedy is not repeated and honor her memory by making a significant change.
