Get Disney's Goof Troop a REBOOT

The Issue

First of all, there are many, many people that enjoyed Disney Afternoon's beloved animated series "Goof Troop," as well as myself back when it was around and it still marks the beginning of the talented stars as our beloved characters, Bill Farmer as Goofy and Jim Cummings as Pete.

Even after the series, people still adored this awesome franchise, even more with the following movies, "A Goofy Movie" and it's sequel "An Extremely Goofy Movie" and people still adore and talk about it today, changing lives and familial perspectives.

Goof Troop holds a special place in the hearts of those who grew up in the 90s and even younger audiences up to this day. The show provided a wholesome portrayal of family, friendship, and the challenges that come with parenthood at times amongst all the comedic aspects. Its blend of comedy and awesome dynamics resonated with viewers, making it a cherished part of many childhoods. A reboot could capitalize on this nostalgia while introducing the characters and themes to a new generation, refreshed and improved.

The show's main characters—Goofy, Max, P.J, Pete, Peg and Pistol—are not only iconic but also rich in potential for development. A reboot could delve deeper into their lives, and giving characters like P.J more recognition. Furthermore, this is an opportunity to Perhaps reintroduce characters from the movies or create new characters, enriching the narrative and appeal of the series. Just like Ducktales (2017) did.

People have been wanting to see a return of Max Goof for a long time instead of just cameos and also Peg and Pistol Pete due to their absence in the movies.

Again, current trends in animation show a significant appetite for reboots and remakes (e.g., "DuckTales," "Animaniacs"). These projects have demonstrated that there is a strong market for nostalgic content, especially when it’s updated for contemporary viewers! With advancements in animation technology and storytelling techniques, a reboot of Goof Troop could be visually stunning and narratively engaging. The original show was perfect, this could be even better.

In conclusion, a reboot of Goof Troop presents a unique opportunity to revive a beloved classic. Myself and others urge Disney executives to consider this petition and the voices of countless fans who wish to see our favorite characters return to the screen. I've seen many people within the animation industry present their own takes/ideas for a Goof Troop reboot such as the talented Becky Dreistadt and Frank Dreistadt known for their work on 'Big City Greens', 'Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil', etc and also the creative Austin Faber known for working on 'Jessica's Big Little World', 'The Cuphead Show', etc and more people!

It's been over three decades.

Bring Disney Afternoon back, not just Ducktales!
