Before the school closings due to the pandemic, a security guard was called to an elementary school and subsequently assaulted 2nd-grader and 7 year old Renée. Raybern, who is white, had his knee on Renée’s (who is black) back, preventing her from breathing. Upon hearing her cries, one of the school’s staff, Angel Graves, ran outside to see what was happening. Renée saw Graves and started crawling towards her until Raybern grabbed her legs and dragged her towards him. It was only until Graves demanded he release the little girl did Raybern stop. Right away Renée ran to and hugged Graves, clearly traumatized.

As of now, Raybern is only suspended from his position be he needs to be held accountable. He needs to be fired and arrested for assaulting the child. It also isn’t a coincidence that the child was African American and Raybern was white. In addition, Raybern hadn’t even completed his training. All security guards shouldn’t be allowed on the field without completing proper training which should include racial bias training.
