Get Amazon UK & eBay UK to remove inhumane, & illegal to use, small mammal traps from sale

The Issue

Both Amazon UK and eBay UK allow the sale of bucket traps for small rodents such as mice or voles. These take two forms "log roll" traps and "walk the plank" traps. Both advocate the use of water in the bottom of the bucket to drown captures, though some do say that you do not have to put water in if you do not wish to drown captures. However the adverts actively highlight drowning as a method of killing, and in some adverts even advertise them as "humane".

Causing rodents to swim until exhausted before finally drowning is not only inhumane but is illegal. It contravenes the UK's Wild Mammals (Protection) Act 1996 which states "If, save as permitted by this Act, any person mutilates, kicks, beats, nails or otherwise impales, stabs, burns, stones, crushes, drowns, drags or asphyxiates any wild mammal with intent to inflict unnecessary suffering he shall be guilty of an offence" and has penalties of fine and/or imprisonment.

These inhumane traps should not be on sale anywhere in the world but this petition is focusing on the UK. This petition asks both Amazon UK and eBay UK to remove these traps from sale in the UK as they are not only inhumane but their use to drown captures means the user is committing a criminal offence.
