Get Adult Swim to Renew Rick and Morty Comics Contract with Oni Press

Get Adult Swim to Renew Rick and Morty Comics Contract with Oni Press
The Issue
Rick and Morty Comics was a spinoff from the Adult Swim hit show "Rick and Morty,"
In April of 2015, they struck up a 5 year licensing contract with Oni Press (comic book publisher), and have since been producing comic books for the series. This 5 year license came to its end in March 2020. This means no more Rick & Morty comic books.
There have been many sub-spinoffs from that comic series, including:
- Rick and Morty Presents
- Rick and Morty vs Dungeons & Dragons
- Rick and Morty: Pocket Like You Stole It
- Rick and Morty: Lil Poopy Superstar
From the main series of comics, "Rick and Morty," there have been 60 issues total, most of which are absolutely fantastic.
Now, let's face it: If you're signing this petition, it means you are a Rick and Morty nerd. And if you're a Rick and Morty nerd, it means you are going insane waiting for Dan and Justin to crank out a new season. Admittedly, they are exceptionally slow at making new content. And this is to their benefit! It makes the show the gold standard.
In between seasons, what do we get? You get nothing but waiting. . . Unless you have the comics! Now, to be certain, the comics are not as good as the show. And how could they be? Dan & Justin do not write the comics; but the comics have the same spirit as the show, and they are absolutely fantastic on their own merit. The comics are absolutely great for any fan, and they're wildly successful.
So, what are you signing this petition for? To badger Adult Swim, and the CEO Bruce Taylor into calling up Oni Press and giving the green light on making more comics.
It's really that simple. We want more Rick & Morty comics.
Adult Swim, Bruce Taylor, Warner Brothers: Please renew the contract to give Oni Press the license for more Rick and Morty Comics. Their content has been great quality. They haven't fudged a single thing. Their comics have been impeccable. Their sales have been fantastic. Even the softcover volumes, and hardcover books have been great. Don't leave this one hanging, this is something that needs to keep going on for both the sake of the subculture, as well as being a good business decision. Don't let a good thing go to waste.
