The Issue

To this day, My Chemical Romance’s ‘Danger Days’ is a fantastic album. From ‘Party Poison’ to ‘DESTROYA’, every song has its own unique sound. The four members of the band (Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Frank Iero and Ray Toro) represent four ‘killjoys’ in this universe- Party Poison, Kobra Kid, Fun Ghoul and Jet Star (respectively).

The story of the music videos (and promotional material) revolve around a world in which Better Living Industries (BL/ind) has taken over, and the people who have broken free- the Killjoys- fight their Draculoids.

With this source material as well as a 6-book comic series (made by Gerard Way), there’s a lot of material to work with- which is why I (and many others) think it would make a fantastic movie. Members of the band seem to agree, as when interviewed in 2011, he said the following: “This world we’ve created, we kind of feel like we’re not done living in yet. I think it’d translate really well to film.”
