Georgia veto for THCA Only in the revision of US Farm Bill Act with SB494

Georgia veto for THCA Only in the revision of US Farm Bill Act with SB494
The Issue
Under United States Federal Law since 2018 THCA has been legalized by the 2018 US Farm Bill Act and is currently legal for adults 21 years of age or older federally. For 6 years the State of Georgia has benefited from the tax revenue supported from this bill. Many businesses especially small businesses will be devastated with the revision of THCA.
Currently the United States Federal Farm Bill Act requires lab testing that require Delta-9 THC percentages to be under 0.3% and for six years many businesses have complied along with farmer's in the agricultural industry. If you make lab testing comply with THCA percentages and Delta-9 THC percentages combined to be under 0.3% you are left with a product that does basically nothing for the consumer and would leave this industry worthless and undesired. I've contacted the Department of Agriculture in Georgia to get the tax revenue generated by the hemp industry for 2023 with the current 2018 US Farm Bill Act that's been in effect for six years now. This market has been created due to the demand of Georgians seeking recreational use. This product will be put out of the industry in Georgia and will force Georgian's to go back to the extremely dangerous and unpredictable black market where other substances could be introduced into there lives which they would not have come into contact with shopping in a dispensary. There are irresponsible owners in every industry but I am not one of them. Those irresponsible owners that have sold to minors should be dealt with accordingly. Do not punish the responsible small business owners by destroying our market. I do not sell Delta-8 or Delta-10 or any lab altered cannabinoids at my shop and I have no interest in protecting them. I do not sell any tobacco products at my shop.
I only provide all natural THCA products and I help people that suffer from many medical conditions. I do not treat any conditions but I help ease suffering and help many find relief from extreme pain and anxiety problems with these products safely. I've not endangered anyone's health and I thoroughly explain dosing and how to use each product. I take my time with each individual to find the best product for them. The current bill alteration in SB 494 to THCA would end my business completely and would end the entire industry that's been growing for the past 6 years. I have a daughter to help raise and this will hurt our family tremendously. THCA/Hemp Derived Delta-9 Products are much safer than alcohol/tobacco products and are safe.
I am here to ease the pain from cancer patients and end of life customers on Hospice Care. Some of these patients don't have 6 months or more left to wait to see a doctor to get a medical card that takes another month to receive along with the steep fees associated with getting a medical card. I am a medical card holder for PTSD Treatment in the State of Georgia and I know the length of time it takes to complete the entire process. THCA products have made a tremendous impact with my anxiety and I’m able to sleep peacefully without a single nightmare covered in sweat. If THCA products can help people as much as they have how can our State of Georgia take a benefit from us that the rest of the United States of America can have? This industry helps tremendously with the overflow of people that cannot afford the lengthy expensive process. Please take time to re-evaluate the revision of THCA compliance to hear testimonials from the public about THCA. This is something Georgian's should also be able to vote on. I do not oppose lab altered cannabinoids being banned. I stand for THCA and natural THC products. The revision that requires lab testing from the manufacturer and another lab test be performed by the retailer on the same product as a 2nd form of identification purpose or whatever purpose it serves would be very expensive for the retailer of this product. One panel tests are $150 or more and 4 panel tests are $400-$500 and is very redundant after testing was performed by the manufacturer/producer of the product.
I've not seen so much scrutiny of a product to hinder an industry such as this my whole life. Never did I think my financial future and my means of providing for my family would be in such danger. My lease says this property is for Hemp Sales and I have 8 months left on my lease. Please leave THCA out of the revision of the 2018 United States Farm Bill Act SB 494 Governor Brian Kemp. I’m asking as a productive member of society struggling to run a business and provide for his family while being able to finally work in my field of expertise providing relief for others safely, naturally, and with compassion.
