Help Jesup FCI Satellite Camp Minimum/Low Risk Inmates stay COVID19 Free
The Issue
The Attorney General recently sent a memorandum to the Director of the Bureau of Prisons (03/26/2020) which dealt with allowing certain inmates, minimum and low risk, to be evaluated for immediate release to home detention. There are many criteria which is similar to the First Step Act. My husband is already in the program and meets the criteria for emergency release and I’m sure other inmates of that camp does as well. We are asking that Jesup FCI Satellite Camp inmates be release to home confinement to encourage social distancing, prevent the spread of this disease, and death of our loved ones due to COVID19 that we know our prison system is not able to handle.
This action would further create space to separate any individuals that may contract coronavirus from the main prison and encourage isolation procedures to mitigate the spread of COVID19.
My husband and active father of a 5 & 6 year would serve better at home safe from the outbreak of COVID19; helping during school closure so I can successfully work from home. He has no prior record and is currently an inmate at Jesup, Ga Federal Correction Institution Satellite Camp.
Many other inmates fit the requirements to be considered as priority to be protected from COVID19. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., called for “low-risk” inmates in California federal prisons to be released from custody, according to a letter sent to Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Director Michael Carvajal on Thursday. I’m hoping you can help bring this momentum to the inmates of Jesup, Ga. FCI Satellite Camp sooner let’s not wait to the pandemic ravage within their walls. Please help us protect our fathers, uncles, nephews, grandfather etc. from COVID19.
