Mandate schools to allow & honor parents choice of school opening F2F and online learning

The Issue

Two part petition:

1. School system should allow parents to choose between return to the classroom face to face (F2F) and online learning. Parents' decision should be honored. I do believe the decision for opening school should benefit and accommodate the people that pay to support and maintain it through taxes and those most in need of its public service which are children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The decision of only virtual learning offered that directly discriminate against working women, ethnic minorities, poor families with two incomes, children in abusive environment, single parent families and most of all, essential workers in critical businesses are very wrong and unjust. It is double penalty for all working parents that are propping up this economy and everyone is owing lives to. This decision that will make the dividing gap between the rich and the poor much wider affecting generations to come is unacceptable. The decision that make people want to work, are unable to work is against the American ethics. Not all children can learn online especially special needs, children in elementary and children from disadvantaged backgrounds. They are the ones who are in need of the the school system that is failing them. Children have the right to effective education methods to help them learn. They should be allowed back to the classroom when they are the lowest risk group to corona virus.

2. Implement safety measures in school to mitigate transmission risks and hold the School Boards accountable to address parent's questions and concerns. For example, all parents should sign waiver to accept the risks of children infected with COVID 19 and release the schools of all responsibilities and lawsuits risks; all teachers and students should wear masks at all time; temperature check and answer screening questions before boarding school bus with parents encouraged to take their kids to school themselves; failure to answer screening questions truthfully will result in fines to parents to go towards COVID fund for school; same grade, same bus route children stay in same group to allow contact tracing; children learn in group in one classroom with teachers moving around and staggering outside playtime in groups to allow contact tracing; all teachers are required to return to work onsite with teachers under high risk category teaching online in separate office; any teacher refusing to return to work will be put on FMLA with no pay to allow funds to be paid for floating supply teachers covering permanent teachers tested positive; in case of one student or teacher testing positive, all students in contact will be asked to take the test and anyone with negative result can go back to the classroom the next day and positive result or unable to take the test to be moved to virtual learning for 2 weeks; parents to purchase hand sanitizer and other sanitizing supplies for schools in addition to school supplies; caretaker sprays/wipe down all common areas such as door knobs on a regular basis; children to follow school rules and respect social distance with parent taking responsibility for them to do so or paying fines towards the school COVID fund. All businesses put counter measures in place to operate back as normal. There is no reason why schools can't do so if the Board do their job.
