Georgia needs reform in animal laws. Reported through dept of agriculture Jan through June 2023, 7,803 dogs have been euthanized in Georgia shelters.

Rescues are full and asked daily to take more unwanted dogs, backyard breeder discards, dogs  dumped in rural areas, puppies found in boxes, etc.

Lifeline is stating they have 1,000 dogs needing homes alone. 

There are still counties in Georgia like Banks county without animal shelters, which has become a popular dumping ground. This burden is out on the citizens of this county and good Samaritans. 

We, the rescuers,  need help, reform, stricter abuse laws, and mandatory spay/neuter for private owners. We need authorities to crack down on backyard breeders and the department of agriculture to stop allowing breeding until Georgia gets control over population.

Innocent souls are dying and I've seen some amazing dogs being euthanized daily. We are overwhelmed, fed up and disgusted at some shelter practices and lack of compassion. 

I am pleased with our Ga government to take action. This cannot be swept under a rug!
