It is time to level the educational playing field in DeKalb County, Georgia. School Choice is something we hear in the news and at PTA meetings but the reality is that families in south DeKalb County don't have the same school choices as families who live in the northern part of the county. Public or private, families should have equal access to quality education. Sign this petition in support of the opening of Thrive Academy, a K-8 charter school to open Fall 2020 in south DeKalb County.

Thrive Academy will develop and inspire students to be leaders in the rapidly changing 21st-century world by fostering critical curiosity and empathy, anchored in humility, integrity, perseverance, and service. According to the Hechinger Report, 47% of high-school graduates are not completing college or career-ready courses of study post-graduation. Thrive Academy will use inquiry/project-based learning as a method to engage students, teachers, and families as teammates in academic and social-emotional learning (SEL). Thrive Academy will use a constructivist approach to learning that allows students and their community to iterate solutions to the most pressing challenges they face.
