Issue statement specifically condemning the actions of dolphin trainer Barbero
The Issue
SOS Delfines took behind-the-scenes footage of trainers at Marineland Mallorca in which the trainers appeared to kick at, hit and yell at the dolphins in the course of "training".

One of the trainers has been hired by the Georgia Aquarium as Senior Vice-President and will reported arrive at the Aquarium in March. When contacted by WSBTV, the Georgia Aquarium stated that the Aquarium "has a zero tolerance policy against the mistreatment of any of our animals. . . (Barbero's) 35 years of professional experience have been thoroughly reviewed and vetted by the leaders of Georgia Aquarium, and we are confident in his commitment to the wellbeing and care of our animals."
We are calling on the Georgia Aquarium to stand behind the welfare of the dolphins and beluga whales in its charge and to acknowledge that Barbero's behavior toward the dolphins and other marine mammals in his care was unacceptable.
