Construct a new skatepark for Georgetown, Texas

The Issue

Georgetown Texas is a fast-growing community that boasts a wide range of updated amenities and recreational facilities, but the one thing the city lacks is a proper skatepark. I believe that the city has the ability to pay for a professionally built and decently large skatepark, and if not they could get a grant from the respectable organizations or another organization that specializes in Skatepark projects. Currently, our skatepark is an assortment of cheap obstacles and many skaters here refer to this skatepark as the "sh*t-park" due to the neglect of it by the city. Not only is the foundation and obstacles for our so-called skatepark an old auto pitching machine, but the ground is also full of cracks and other dangerous hazards to young or new skaters. Personally, I have seen many examples of injury due to the skatepark, for example, I saw a young child in full protective gear hit a deep crack on the foundation and lacerated his arm on a rusty, old, metal ramp causing him to bleed a decent amount. Georgetown has a very large elderly population and just like the stereotype, some (not all) get pretty angry about kids skating at street spots causing us to waste police resources and have to find a new spot. If you think this is a lot of grievances about this park, this is just a small amount that I can describe. Please, whether you are an elder who doesn't want kids skating in the street, a business owner who is sick of having skaters skate in front of your business, or a fellow skater who just would rather stay close to home and not drive to Round Rock to skate at a skatepark, please sign this petition.

Here is a video I found about the state of the park back in 2016, it it only getting worse: Link -"This once batting cage turned skatepark is located in Georgetown, Tx off E Morrow behind the community center. The entire park is on sloped surface leaving all the obstacles crooked. The ramps are made of metal and the box + manny pad is plastic."
