Today was another fantastic day as we are gaining lots of momentum. Another community, Lakeway, in Texas has reached out to us and is going to join forces. Lakeway successfully stopped the netting of their deer and they have had a moratorium since 2018. We also have several agencies as consult and of course our investigative reporter is digging deeper. We have requested that all costs be released to us in writing and we specifically asked for them because they may have made a mistake in the information they gave KXAN. We will be able to reconcile that number once all the documentation is received by us.
Thank you to all the citizens of Sun City who have stepped forward. We know you were scared and confused but you deserve to live in a place where you feel comfortable.
There is little question that trapping activities is disturbing to nearby residents, and generally has a negative impact on resale values. Not sure what would be worse, a neighbor with a car sitting on jacks or a deer trap, if that house were for sale. We are meeting with our Mayor, Josh Schroeder to discuss how we can handle this dirty little secret across all of Georgetown. Perhaps an ordinance should be established so this cannot be in your view or your backyard.
Tomorrow's topic: Capture Myopathy
Thank you so very much for the support from Sun City, Georgetown, Lakeway and other cities. We should learn to live well with nature; what more can we leave for our children as our legacy?
